A vanity top in a well-used bathroom really does get so much thrown at it. You want something hardwearing and good looking. Durable and classy.

OK, so let’s get technical. Why are Duroclass Mineral Composite formed tops so durable? There two parts to a Mineral Composite formed top. The outside skin and the inner core. The outside skin that you see is made from SHINKOLITE™ PX Sanitary Grade sheet. SHINKOLITE™ is manufactured by Mitsubishi Chemicals, the world’s largest manufacturer of polymers and plastics. Duroclass use this sanitary grade sheet and thermoform it (i.e. mould it with very high temperatures) into the required shape of the vanity top using precision dies. This skin forms a highly durable, scratch, heat and stain resistant outside surface for the vanity top. The beauty of the material is that if something does scratch the surface, it can very easily be repaired.

Underneath the skin is a super strong resin structural core. A casting resin is mixed with calcium carbonate and poured into the external wear layer. This gives the vanity top immense strength and rigidity. Because of this inner core, Duroclass tops are highly impact resistant.

Duroclass tops are tested to the rigorous Australian Standard AS1730. This includes Stain Test (AS3588.2), Thermal Shock Test (AS3558.16) and Impact Test (AS3588.15).

Sufficient to say, if you want a vanity top that is going to look beautiful forever – don’t choose a cheap ceramic imported top that will chip, crack or graze. Choose a Duroclass formed Mineral Composite top.
